Holyrood Park is a short walk from Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. It is a 640 acre Royal Park next to Holyrood Palace. The parks highest point is Arthur’s Seat, an ancient volcano. As it sits 251m above sea level you have an excellent view of the city. It is also the site of a well preserved fort dating from around 2000 years ago. Overall Edinburgh is very walkable. The city is full of little gems waiting to be discovered.
