Ryanair's latest tactics to delay paying refunds is to claim that the booking wasn't made directly with them when it clearly was. Shameful!09:53 AM Oct 21
Starting off in Germany
we will first visit the scenic Tegernsee on your Tailor Made Alps Tour. Located by the lake shore the beautiful village of Rottach-Egern is known for it is celebrity residents. Watch out and you might spot one in one of the cafes by the lake. Furthermore Rottach-Egern also boasts an image of classic alpine beauty. Take a stroll along the lake shore or for the more adventurous, ride an hot air balloon to discover the stunning landscape from above. Alternatively get pampered and book a spa day in one of the internationally acclaimed Spa Hotels.
The next day
we head towards the Berchtesgadener Land. It is especially known for the Watzmann, one of Germany’s highest mountains. Another highlight on your tailor-made alps tour is the mind blowing Koenigssee. It is a 5 km deep glacial lake with crystal clear waters. In addition you will be amazed by beauty of the St Bartholomew’s Church, a pilgrimage site which can only be reached by boat. The next stop will be the Obersalzberg with the Kelhsteinhaus also known as the Eagle’s Nest. It was most noteworthy Hitler’s mountainside retreat and southern headquarter. Here we recommend a guided tour giving you access to the complex bunker system within the mountain and an elevator ride to the Eagle’s Nest. Afterwards you can visit to the documentation centre recounting the crimes and horror of the Nazi regime.
After this no doubt gloomy experience
ATO guides you along a stunning alpine road towards the cosy capital of the Austrian alps, Innsbruck. A small detour to Salzburg is of course optional but highly recommended. Mozart’s birthplace, the spectacular Hohensalzburg fortress and the historic old town with its quaint shops and historic buildings would however make your tailor-made alps tour an even more memorable experience. It is of course your decision and a weekend trip to Salzburg alone would arguably be a good idea too.
In the heart of the historic district of Innsbruck, you are going to see the world-famous Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) the symbol of the city. Emperor Maximilian I had the Gothic bay especially built for his wedding around 1500 to dismiss rumours about his financial difficulties.
Spending some time discovering
the charming old town and then board the Nordkettenbahn which takes you straight from the city centre into the mountains. Hit the peak for lunch on the Haflekar mountain top at 2250m. Then go for a mountain hike or just enjoy the breath taking 360 degree panoramic views. On the next day, we will drive through the mystical Tirolean mountains into a fairy tale world of shimmering crystals; the Swarovski Crystal Worlds.
Afterwards we travel
back to Munich or you can extend your tour. Turn it into a grand alpine adventure by going to Switzerland for example. Visit the peaks of Europe, such as the Jungfrau and Titlis.
